Hello from my digital device to yours. The name is Makalah Emanuel and on behalf of NFP Partners, I’d like to thank you for spending the last 10 seconds reading our newsletter. I hope you chose not to stop here!

In this newsletter, we are excited to present two new articles for you. Of course, they touch on nonprofit financial management – well, all except this one (spoiler alert).

This article won’t help you learn the most effective ways to create your nonprofit’s dashboard or reveal any secret tips on how to get your auditor to love you. Instead, this article will tell you a little bit about one of the people who proudly stands on the NFP Partners team. Should you be even slightly curious about NFP Partners’ Marketing Manager, read further. As I said, the name is Makalah Emanuel. Here’s a little bit about my story.

Makalah’s Story

As a Denver native, I aguishly admit my favorite part of the city is the unrealistic view of the mountains which has yet failed to bring me a moment of peace, even on the craziest of days. The bliss I get from looking at the mountains dates back to my days as a high schooler, working for the nonprofit organization Groundwork Denver. It was my first taste of the nonprofit world and thankfully, it wasn’t the last.

For the last ten years, I have been a part of a nonprofit in one way or another. It began as a youngin’, camping with AmeriCorps, then as a youngin’ biking with Groundwork Denver. The nonprofit world allowed me to visit my first national park (Rocky Mountain National Park, I love you). It also led me to my now husband. The nonprofit world has brought me the best life experiences, memories, and opportunities. So, when I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2015 and was offered the position of Marketing Associate for NFP Partners in 2016, I leaped without fear.

In my mind, nonprofits brought so much joy to my life. Why wouldn’t I take advantage of an organization which tried to bring joy to nonprofits across the country? Now, with three years in the books, I couldn’t be more happy with my decision.

I’ve been able to help navigate insightful articles on nonprofit financial management to nonprofits seeking it. I’ve been able to work with a team of incredible women (and Lee) who put clients and nonprofits first, despite their organization’s mess.

The article is almost over!

Moving forward, I’m excited to open the world of NFP Partners up a little bit more to you. There’s so much more behind the consultants and team members who you work with and I can’t wait to help navigate those stories as well. If you have any comments or questions about the NFP Partners team, I’d be happy to answer them. Do you have an idea for an article to include in our newsletter with expert advice? Let me know!

I hope you haven’t regretted reading past those first ten seconds. Trust me, there’s more in store below.

Until next time,

Makalah
